January 2005: Working Group established online to organize the Founding Meeting for the New University Project
April 2005: Arundel Nature Center chosen as location for the Founding Meeting
May 2005: Call-out for participants across the country generates over 500 responses
August 24-27, 2005: approximately 35 people attend the first Founding Meeting for the New University Project. Living Draft of Foundational Mission and Principles created.
October 2005: Members of the New University Project meet with community members at Arundel to discuss building the first campus of the New University Project at the Arundel Nature Center site, discussions ongoing.
January 2006: Second Meeting of the New University Project held in Montreal, Quebec, with over twenty people in attendance.
August 2006: Third foundational meeting Arundel, Quebec, continues discussion of principles, incorporation and review of draft bylaws.
November 2006: Fourth foundational meeting.
September 2007: Incorporated federally as a solidarity cooperative.
March 2008: First Annual General Meeting in St.Clements, Ontario. Elected board members, created 1, 3, 5 year plan, formed committees, formed budget, welcomed new members.
September 2008: Stakeholder workshop at the Sierra Youth Coalition National Sustainable Campuses Conference
November 2008: Reclaiming Higher Education discussion Series, Ottawa, Ontario
January 30 - February 1 2009: Reclaiming Higher Education Symposium, Tatamagouche Center, Nova Scotia. The inaugural Symposium of the New University Cooperative; part working group session and part academic conference.
