A Visionary Concept
The New University Cooperative represents a new approach to higher education. We will adequately equip post-secondary graduates to play a positive role in helping to create a world that is just and sustainable.
Today young people are often told they must seek post-secondary education in order to be "successful". Students are encouraged to view higher education as means to an end, that of a well-paying career, rather than an end in itself, in which learning is valued in its own right. In the meantime costs of education have risen steadily, limiting accessibility.
The New University Cooperative is reclaiming education and developing a new and innovative university in Canada, which is founded on principles of sustainability, social justice, and which is accessible to all.
